Here are some highlights from BBRS March 2016 meeting.
- Discuss editing the drafted January 2016 meeting minutes.
- 3-6 unit sprinkler “white paper” moved off the agenda and given to BBRS staff for review until Sept 2016.
- MGL 148 26 G study moved off agenda and given to staff per the staff’s request to review and report back in Sept 2016.
- Energy Advisory Committee to review rigid insulation under slab in fully climate controlled buildings with no operable Windows.
- Rob A. briefed the audience on his IRC training from the previous week and discussed future trainings in regards to 9th edition and opening the training to others beyond BO.
- Ian from DOER stated gas/utility companies to provide future energy training to all including BO.
- 9th edition still in EO562 process. No end in sight. July 1 implementation in serious jeopardy.
- BOCC Feb 2016 meeting minutes reviewed and discussed. John C. (BBRS member) wants the reporting authority of the BC or IoB to be adhered to and be only to the hiring member of the local government. He wants the item on the next agenda since law is still being ignored frequently.
- Discussion on BBRS Official Interpretation 2015_01 (Homeowner can add insulation in attic without permit). Concerns were raised especially the chance the homeowner causing more harm than good.
- Rob A. in new role as Education Director while Felix is Acting Chief – Building Division. Kim S. will be Education Coordinator.
